Rincon was originally a photographer who has now taken up modeling for Chicano brands as a freelancer. As a proud Chicano, Rincon showcases his culture and style by educating other Brown people on social media and breaking down stereotypes in the Chicano community. He currently has 63,000 Instagram followers and 125,000 followers on TikTok.
Matisse Rainbolt grew up unable to use social media until she was in college. Her parents would not allow it. Today, the 21-year-old has 1.3 million followers on Tik Tok. She has taken her skills as a professional Folklorico dancer to her social media platforms to showcase her art, posts about her culture and gives step-by-step tutorials based on the dance style she practices.
Beltrami never imagined that her videos would get traffic and that she would gain so many followers from discussing Latinx issues and posting silly videos. The self-taught online endeavor has since given her the opportunity to voice her opinions to the Latinx community. “We are becoming more aware in the Latino community, let’s use our voices too,” she said.
Tatiana Fernandez relishes her many interesting identities, such as being autistic, 1st Gen and queer. She credits her rave passion for driving her to look for work in the social media industry.
