Gilbert High School Mercadito opens as district’s first permanent pantry

Anaheim Union High School District opened the first permanent food pantry at Gilbert High School in partnership with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County.
Now that the Gilbert Mercadito is open, many students, families and community members will have the opportunity to visit the pantry twice a week.

Clinica Medica San Miguel in LA is operated by Dr. Mahfouz Michael, who uses an unorthodox, yet proactive, approach to determine whether a patient is pre-diabetic.

Latino community significantly affected by diabetes, Clinica Medica offers help

Clinica Medica San Miguel in LA is operated by Dr. Mahfouz Michael, who uses an unorthodox, yet proactive, approach to determine whether a patient is pre-diabetic. This approach focuses on testing fasting insulin levels. By preventing and educating patients, he helps them avoid a diagnosis altogether.
